Day 11, Drug bust in the day light

May 21, 2008

Alright, I figured it is technically about 11th day since I came here, so I should be true with you and list  the days accordingly. I promised 365 entries before I leave, and so I will do, but for now I just need to figure out a better way of counting entries.

“Shotgun”

This is the phrase you usually hear when somebody is trying to score a good seat in the car, or something your buddy might drop for you in a friendly game of Counter-Strike, but not often do you actually get to encounter one of these in the real life, do you?!

As I was doing my daily jog this afternoon, I happened to pass by a certain neighborhood in Vancouver. To a naked eye it’s a decent area with small cozy houses, friendly people, and lots of green. Underneath however…well, I don’t think I want to dig underneath.

As I was peacefully jogging up the hill, what I saw was a policy car speeding up and then parking on the opposite side of the street – nothing abnormal, cops do it everyday. As I ran closer tho, I noticed another car, and then another, and then I saw a couple of cops starting to slowly jog up the road with me, one of them with a shotgun over his shoulder.

I am not quite a chicken, but when I saw a lot of police and guns I figured it’d be safer to jog on the other side of the street. I think it’s logical. Unfortunately for my logic, but fortunately for my safety, I found more police there too.

Not contemplating for too long I changed my course and decided I’d rather jog somewhere with a smaller ration of steal and body armor for a body mass. Now I am just waiting to see if there will be anything catchy on the news, but I guess if the operation was smooth it won’t likely make any news.
